She debuted in "Our Gang Follies of 1936" and was the coquettish heart throb of Alfalfa, Butch and Waldo until she retired from the Little Rascals in 1941.

George Robert Phillips "Spanky" McFarland starred in the Little Rascals (Our Gang) series of short movies that was a smash hit from 1934 until it ended in 1944. After his discovery by producer Hal Roach at the age of three, he quickly became the de facto leader of the gang who usually came up with a creative idea to catch the gang’s interest. After the series ended, McFarland was unable to find work in the movie business because he had been typecast as a child personality. In 1952, he joined the U.S. Air Force and after retiring, he used his fame and celebrity status to help raise money for charities, primarily by participating in golf tournaments. In 1964, Spanky McFarland and Jackie Cooper were honored as the only two Our Gang members to receive a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
