Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton is the 67th United States U.S. Secretary of State and took office in 2008. As the wife spouse of the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, she was also the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001 and is regarded as the most openly empowered presidential wife in American history, save for Eleanor Roosevelt.
In 1993 Hillary Rodham Clinton became the First Lady of the United States where she focused on issues of health care reform, child advocacy, and women’s rights. After Bill Clinton left office, Hillary Clinton won two terms as State Senator of New York State before becoming the United States Secretary of State in 2008.
